TEP (Tucson Electric Power, a UNS Energy subsidiary) serves Pima County as a completely separate utility from APS and SRP. TEP has its own solar interconnection application, its own net metering program under Arizona Corporation Commission rules, and its own customer service process. Installers who work primarily in the Phoenix metro (APS or SRP territory) must use TEP's specific application when working in Tucson. Tucson has an excellent solar resource — 5.5 or more peak sun hours daily — comparable to Phoenix, and the Arizona 25% state tax credit applies.
